GLENDALE, Calif. - Vahe and Aida Yeghiazarian helped set the tone for a
successful ANCA Endowment Fund Telethon on Sun., May 31, opening their
home for a gala reception raising over $100,000 for the civic and
educational activities of the charitable community organization.
A team of community activists joined in the organizing committee to
ensure a successful gala reception.
`Today, we take a large step forward as we unite in common cause to
help the ANCA Endowment Fund meet its mission and goals,' said Aida
Yeghiazarian, as she welcomed community leaders, friends, and
supporters from throughout southern California for the special
evening.
Throughout the evening guests stressed the important role of community
support for the ANCA Endowment Fund. `It is our national and spiritual
responsibility to give generously to this great Cause,' explained
longtime community activist and leader Haigoush Keghinian-Kohler.
`The ANCA Endowment Fund is one group whose activities I follow
proudly on a consistent basis,' explained Hacop Baghdassarian. `Their
efforts require vigilant community participation - both financially and
through the volunteer ethic - to ensure success.' Baghdassarian joined
the evening's fundraising efforts led by Jasik Jarahian and Parouir
Acopian.
`The work of the ANCA Endowment Fund and the efforts behind the
telethon take the issues related to the Armenian American community to
the highest levels,' explained Acopian. `Educate Yourself. Speak Out.
Become an Activist.'
Among noted attendees at the reception were His Eminence Archbishop
Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate of the Armenian Apostolic Church of the
Western U.S., ARF Central Committee chairman Avedik Izmirlian, ANCA
Endowment Fund Telethon Committee chairman Leonard Manoukian, as well
as leaders from the ANC-Western Region, Homenetmen `Ararat' Chapter,
and Armenian Relief Society.
The 2009 telethon will help further strengthen the ANCA Endowment Fund
as a vital Armenian American civic institution that continues to build
on its proven track record of results by developing a powerful
financial foundation for the future. The telethon will support
Armenian American grassroots civic participation by ensuring that our
community has the tools to effectively educate the American public and
governments on the federal, state, and local levels about the
challenges and opportunities facing Armenia, Nagorno-Karabagh, and the
diaspora.
The ANCA Endowment Fund is a 501c(3) charitable organization. To
