Sousanna Gasbaryan, mother of Artsakh War hero Lieutenant Myasnik
Gasbaryan who died on the battlefield, noted that the current Armenian
authorities do not fully value the courage of those who fought in
that war during a commemoration service for her son.
Myasnik Gasbaryan, a native of Artik, was only 22 when he died and his
feats are the stuff of legend. Major General Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan,
better known by his nom de guerre of Commandos, related the time when
Myasnik drive away with two enemy tanks right under their nose.
During the commemoration service, Myasnik's war buddies expressed
their anger over the fact that the Artik Municipality has refused to
consider renaming one of the town's streets in his honor.
They have written to the RA and Artsakh Defense Ministries, requesting
that they intervene in the matter.
Sousanna Gasbaryan said that she is planning to hold a press conference
soon in Yerevan at which she'll relate the off-hand attitude of the
authorities towards the Artsakh heroes.
