Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan participated in an enlarged
meeting of the Bureau of the Group of the European People's Party in
Bucharest, Romania, Sept 22.
The Armenian premier delivered a speech at the opening of the meeting.
Among the speakers were also President of the European People's Party
(EPP), Wilfried Martens, Romanian Prime Minister and PD-L President
Emil Boc, Prime Minister of Belgium Yves Leterme, Moldovan Prime
Minister Vlad Filat, Group Chair at the European Parliament Joseph
Daul and others.
Among the attendees were also European Parliament members, civil
society representatives, NGO leaders, scholars and journalists.
In his speech, the Armenian premier expressed the confidence that
Armenia's membership in the EPP will facilitate its integration and
cooperation with the European Union (EU). This is in harmony with
the Armenian government's policy, he added.
Built on the principle of overcoming difficulties through dialogue and
cooperation, the EU is especially eligible for stimulating an identical
process in the South Caucasus. Confidence, tolerance and communication
are keys to successful regional cooperation, the Armenian premier said.
