ARS 'LORI' CHAPTER CELEBRATES FIRST ANNIVERSARY

The ARS "Lori" chapter members during the celebration
TORRANCE, Calif.-The first anniversary of the establishment of the
ARS N. San Fernando Valley "Lori" Chapter was held on March 17, 2012
at the De Luxe Banquet Hall in Burbank, California. The 200 guests
included members of the ARS Regional Executive Board, representatives
of local sister organizations, and community supporters.
Welcoming remarks were presented by chapter executive member Sossi
Khatchadourian, congratulated "Lori" Chapter members and thanked
guests for their continued support. She expressed, "We knowingly have
taken upon ourselves the responsibilities and duties of the ARS. With
this responsibility, we vow to strive with our youthful and creative
strength to continue and advance the humanitarian goals and mission
of the ARS."
Rev. Fr. Razmig Khatchadourian commenced the evening speeches with a
prayer and expressed his blessings to the chapter. ARS "Lori" Chapter
Chairperson Maria Terterian conveyed special thanks to the ARS Regional
Executive Board and sister chapters for their support and guidance
throughout the year, as well as to the ACF Arshavir Shiragian Gomideh
for sharing their new center and always facilitating the chapter's
needs. She recalled the journey of the chapter's first year, noting
that just one year ago 17 members took their ARS oath and, currently,
the "Lori" Chapter stands firm with 43 members and continues to grow.
ARS Regional Executive Chairperson Dr. Nyree Derderian praised
the chapter's dedication, hard work, and commitment, expressing
contentment and amazement with the chapter's progress within its first
year. Thereafter, ARS Regional Executive Board members presented the
chapter with a plaque of special recognition. The evening speeches
concluded with ACF Arshavir Shiragian Gomideh Chairperson Vatche
Donoyan extending well wishes in the years to come.
The evening entailed surprising gifts for the chapter, including a
cordless microphone from the ARS "Anahid" Chapter and a hand-painted
portrait of the ARS logo by ARS member Anahid Der Ashodian.
Musical entertainment was provided by well-known singer Koko Hayitian
and guests enjoyed a lively atmosphere full of celebration
