VOTERS MOST CONCERNED WITH ISSUES OF JOBS, ROADS AND POVERTY

Voters in Armenia are mostly concerned with the issue of jobs (19.9%),
pensions (8.3%) and poverty (8.2%). Other issues of concern include
prices, wages, recognition of the Armenian Genocide, migration, youth
policy, corruption and relations with Russia. The study has been
conducted by the Transparency International Anti-Corruption Center
NGO in cooperation with its partner organizations - the Asparez
Journalists Club and the Helsinki Citizens' Assembly Vanadzor Office.
In February under the "Election postman" program the "postmen" visited
70 settlement of the republic and asked citizens above 18 about the
questions they would like to ask the forces running in the elections.
The results of the study show that on the community level, people
are more concerned about the reconstruction of roads and sidewalks
(19.2%), places of entertainment (12.2%), fees for communal services
(11%). Voters are also worried about waste removal, water supply,
transport infrastructures, housing issues, the irrigation system.
