Following the recent initiative of establishment of a Joint Election
Headquarters by four political forces and the disagreement between
the Heritage Party and the other three parties willing to join
this initiative over the proposal of the Heritage that the first
persons of the parties sign the agreement on the establishment of
the headquarters, the Heritage made a political statement rejecting
imitation of efforts to hold free and fair elections, hinting that
the Armenian National Congress which has been demanding a change
of government till recently is now trying to crystallize the next
coalition producing the illusion of legitimacy, while the Prosperous
Armenia Party signs commitments with one hand and continues to violate
the basic principles of free and fair elections.
Evoking recent similar proposals, including by the Republican speaker
of parliament Samvel Nikoyan, the Heritage Party states willing to join
any non-titular document only if it meets the following conditions:
only the political forces which do not violate the provisions thereof
will sign it, the first persons of these parties will sign them to
certify their personal and collective responsibility for fulfillment of
its provisions, the document incorporates crisp and clear provisions
on openly or secretly distributed election bribes, charity in return
for votes and collection passports of citizens by political parties.
