ISSUES ON ARMENIAN-LATVIAN COOPERATION IN THE SPHERE OF RAILWAY DISCUSSED

YEREVAN, APRIL 12, ARMENPRESS: Director General of South Caucasus
Railway CJSC Victor Rebets received the Armenian delegation headed by
Ambassador Gints Apals. As press service of South Caucasus Railway told
Armenpress, the meeting was held on the initiative of the ambassador.
During the meeting Gints Apals attached importance to the role of
the railway transport in development of economy of any county. The
ambassador stressed that development of the railway transport is
among the priories of Latvia's economy.
The Armenian party was presented the activity of VRC Zasulauks company,
which executes all kinds of repairs of ER2, ER2T, ER2R series electric
trains; DR1 series diesel trains, and TEM, TGM, and TGK series shunters
and their aggregates, including modernization with extension of service
life up to 15 years as well as renders their maintenance services.
The parties decided to continue the negotiations for purpose of
development of mutually beneficial cooperation.
