MOVIE-PROJECT ABOUT ARMENIAN GENOCIDE WINS AT THE ARMENIA-TURKEY CINEMA-PLATFORM

YEREVAN, APRIL 16, ARMENPRESS:Davud Akkaya's "Gyavor's grandson,my
Armenian grandfather" movie bacame the winner of the Armenia-Turkey
cinema-platform held on April 12-14, Armenpress reports, citing
Armenian "Akos" newspaper.The cinema platform will support the winning
movie project.
Akkaya's movie tells the story of a family from the days of Armenian
Genocide to our times. Akkayan mentioned that the main motivation of
creating the film was that his family had always felt allien to the
Turkish society because of its origin.
"My grandfather was adopted by a kurdish family in 1915. What mainly
connects us is that both he and I feel lonely, both of us feel as if
we do not belong to either party. The trauma of 1915 lasts till today"
Akkatan said.
The producer of the film also added that he still hopes to find his
grandfather's tomb.
"We suppose that he is buried in the orphans' cemetory. One of the aims
of my project is to find and bury him in the place he lived",he said.
