KURDISH MPS TO PROPOSE TURKISH MEJLIS TO PROCLAIM APRIL 24 A DAY OF "SHARING THE NATIONAL GRIEF AND SUFFERINGS OF ARMENIAN PEOPLE"

YEREVAN, APRIL 25, ARMENPRESS: During a press conference in the Turkish
parliament, Kurdish "Peace and Democracy Party" (BDP) MP Sirri Sureyya
Onder stated that together with his friends he is going to propose
that a parliamentary research group on deportation of the Armenians in
1915 is set up and the Turkish parliament proclaims April 24 a day of
"sharing the national grief and sufferings of Armenian people".
As Armenpress reports citing CNNTurk, Onder said that on April 24 he
participated in a campaign dedicated to 97th anniversary of exile
of Armenians in the Taksim Square, Turkey and said that with their
participation all the participants of the event shared the grief of
Armenian people.
He announced that the events of 1915 are genocide. "Along with Turks
and Kurds participated in that massacre we also have fathers and
grandfathers, who supported Armenians at the price of their life,
he said.
At the press conference the Kurdish MP showed the photos of Armenian
MPs, writers and poets arrested and missed on April 24, 1915, as well
as the photo of Hrant Dink murdered January 29, 2007.
