Dirty propaganda against Heritage Party has started in the course of
the election campaign, and those who do this will inevitably find
themselves in jail after the elections, because this is not just
a black PR campaign, but this is a real crime, Stepan Safaryan,
Head of the Heritage Faction, who has advanced his nominee at the
single-mandate constituency No.1, said at today's press conference.
Safaryan also pointed out that the residents of the rural areas of
Armenia undergo bigger pressure than those living in towns. Therefore,
it is very hard to avoid this impact on the results of the elections.
"We have recently visited Ararat and we saw that some employees of the
state security agencies dispersed the people, who wanted to listen to
us. Very often we hear the citizens say that they will vote for us,
but they will not attend our rallies because they are afraid to lose
their job", Safaryan said.
He also stressed that over the past few years Heritage was the only
opponent of the Republican Party of Armenia and the Prosperous Armenia
Party in the parliament. In this context, he qualified the rumors
that Heritage is currently cooperating with the coalition forces as
slander and immorality.
The parliamentarian said that he positively assesses the media coverage
of the electoral process. He considers the RPA representative Rouben
Hayrapetyan to be his main opponent at the constituency No.1.
