Andranik Yeremyan, who has been recently detained in Volgograd and
extradited to Armenia over suspicion in the murder of the nephew of
parliamentarian Ruben Gevorgyan, is giving testimonies. Referring
to its own sources, the Yerevan-based Zhamanak newspaper reports
that Yeremyan named parliamentarian from the ruling Republican
Party, big businessman Samvel Alexanyan and two other persons from
Alexanyan's surroundings, as the murder paymasters. To recall, the
37-year-old Andranik Yeremyan was detained recently by the criminal
intelligence officers of the Voroshilovsky region, Voldograd, Russia,
over suspicion in especially grave crimes in the territory of Germany
and Armenia, Crimerussian.ru reported. The Interpol red notice against
him was issued in 2003. Yeremyan was wanted by the German Police for
kidnapping and ransom and would face 15 years in prison in Germany. In
Armenia Yeremyan was wanted over suspicion in the murder of three
people. To recall, the unknown fired at and killed Deputy Head of
the Armenian Defense Ministry Medical Department Garik Haroutyunyan,
Arkady Gevorgyan, nephew of parliamentarian Ruben Gevorgyan in a car
on Nubarashen highway on July 25 2003. The driver Sashik Hakobyan
was killed as well, while the brother of Arkady Artyom Gevorgyan
was wounded. It was known from the very beginning that the murders
were the result of the conflict between Samvel Alexanyan and Ruben
Gevorgyan. Some 5-6 people were convicted for preparation of the
murder, but, according to Mass Media reports, it was Andranik Yeremyan
    who committed murder.
