YEREVAN.- Iravunk newspaper writes about the recent reports saying
Skype made its online chats and other information more available
to police. The newspaper reached for comments Armenian expert on
information security, blogger Samvel Martirosyan.
"He believes Americans had such an opportunity long ago. Back in 2008
it was disclosed that Skype has wiretapping system. Now the service may
provide an opportunity of listening to wiretaps for all the countries,
including Armenia, if allowed by the court.
Martirosyan noted even Facebook has recently confessed to "reading"
private messages. The official reason is disclosing pedophiles. Google
Hangout has not been engaged in a scandal yet, although they have
similar service," the daily writes.
