YEREVAN. - The clashes in Aleppo's several districts have reflected on
Syria's Armenian community, Armenia's MFA Press Secretary Tigran
Balayan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Also, he denied the information disseminated by several news media,
according to which the diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in
Aleppo's Jaideh district has passed under the control of the
insurgents.
Over the course of the past several days, the Syrian army continued
its operations toward destroying the `Syrian Free Army' fighters.
Flyers were thrown Monday from helicopters, and these pamphlets called
upon the fighters and the foreign mercenaries to surrender.
Separately, information was disseminated, in the early morning hours
of Tuesday, as to the death of a female Japanese journalist who was
working in Aleppo.
To note, around 60,000 Armenians live in Syria, and great majority of
them reside in Aleppo and Damascus.
