SASUNTSI DAVIT EPOS IS ARMENIAN THIRD INTANGIBLE VALUE IN UNESCO'S PRESTIGIOUS LIST

YEREVAN, DECEMBER, ARMENPRESS: Over 70 applications were presented to
UNESCO's list of Intangible cultural heritage from various countries,
whereas only 36 received positive expert opinion and were included
in 7th session agenda. Sasuntsi Davit epos application was in the
number of those lucky 36.
The application was jointly elaborated and submitted by Armenian
Ministry of Culture and Armenian National Commission for UNESCO,
relevant to the scientific and cultural institutions, in partnership
with the communities."Sasna tsrer or Sasuntsi Davit epos performance
manifestations " application discussion took place on December 5
and by the decision of Intergovernmental Committee was included in
UNESCO's list of Intangible cultural heritage, Armenpress reports.
Application involvement will guarantee the recognition of cultural
values and subsequent respect towards them, which reportedly will
contribute to the raising of esteem towards Diaspora communities,
development of mutual respect and protection of human rights,
besides encourage tolerance, intercultural dialogue and international
cooperation.
