By-election for two seats under way in Karabakh
The parliamentary by-election for two seats in the "national assembly"
is under way in Karabakh region after two MPs were appointed to
high-level positions, Kavkazskiy Uzel website reported on 22 December.
Zoya Lazaryan and Vladimir Kasyan resigned as MPs after they were
nominated to the post of healthcare minister and chief of district
administration, respectively. They are members of the Democratic Party
of Artsakh.
The website quoted the central electoral commission as saying that the
election was being supervised by local journalists and representative
of public organizations.
