CEC TO INVITE INTERNATIONAL OBSERVERS

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 26, ARMENPRESS: Central Election Commission of
Armenian Republic made a decision during December 26 session to
request International expert Center for Electoral Systems to take the
observation mission during upcoming presidential election on February
18, 2013. Armenpress reports CEC President Tigran Mukuchyan informed
during May 6, 2012 parliamentary elections ICES was the one to send
20 observers to Armenia.
According to Mukuchyan, this time center wants to have 35 observers
during presidential elections who will implement not only short-term
but also long-term observations.
"CEC may also invite some observers. Taking into account the experience
of that center our commission decided to request it to implement
Election observation mission during February 18, 2013 presidential
elections," he said.
