YEREVAN BLAMES BAKU FOR LACK OF PROGRESS IN KARABAKH SETTLEMENT PROCESS

    Russia

Armenian Parliament Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov has accused
Azerbaijan of misrepresenting the situation in the Karabakh settlement
    process.

"Mr. Mammadyarov (Azeri Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov) has been
distorting the reality in the intrinsic style of the Azeri leadership,"
    Sharmazanov said.

Armed incidents in the Karabakh conflict zone will be prevented
not through the use of some mechanisms investigating such incidents
but through the removal of the very fact of the Azeri territory's
occupation by Armenia, the Azeri foreign minister said on Monday at
a joint press conference held with OSCE (Organization for Security
and Co-operation in Europe) Secretary General Lamberto Zannier.

The Armenian parliament deputy speaker said: "As long as Azerbaijan
occupies certain parts of Nagorno-Karabakh, in particular, Getashen,
Martunashen, Shaumyan, and opens sniper fire against civilians,
including kindergartens, the lack of serious progress in the peaceful
settlement process will be entirely Azerbaijan's responsibility,"
the Armenian parliament spokesperson told Interfax, commenting on
the statement by the Azeri foreign minister.
