Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman has said that the recent presidential
elections in Azerbaijan's breakaway region of Karabakh will not yield
acceptable results as long as Azerbaijani and Armenian officials are
continuing their talks on the issue.
"The Karabakh region is currently facing a crisis. As long as the
region is in crisis, stability has not been restored and talks between
Azerbaijani and Armenian officials have not yielded a result, we
don't think that such actions will have an acceptable result," Ramin
Mehmanparast said at his weekly news conference on 24 July broadcast
live by Iran's state news channel, IRINN, and English-language
Press TV.
