ARMENIANS IN EUROPE RAISE NEARLY $1.8 MILLION AHEAD OF THANKSGIVING DAY TELETHON

The Hayastan All-Armenian Fund's 13th European Phoneathon, which
took place in France on November 15-18, ensured pledges of more than
1 million 400 thousand Euros (about $1.8 million), the Fund said
on Monday.
The amount is by 124,000 Euros more than last year.
During the event over 700 Armenian and non-Armenian volunteers from
France, Germany, Switzerland, and Belgium made phone appeals to
Armenian families, businesses, and organizations across Europe to
request financial support for the ongoing development of Armenia
and Karabakh, as well as emergency relief for the Syrian-Armenian
community.
Phone-a-thon events have been held annually since 2000 and totally
over these years 20,800 donors have donated over 10 million euros.
Our Village Telethon - the main fundraising event of the year, a live
12 hour program - is set to air on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2012.
