    UAE-ARMENIAN TRADE RELATIONS DISCUSSED

    Abu Dhabi, November 20 (QNA) - UAE Minister of Foreign Trade, Sheikha
    Lubna bint Khalid Al-Qasimi met here Tuesday with Armenian Minister
    of Foreign Affairs, Edward Nalbadian, and his accompanying delegation,
    currently visiting the United Arab Emirates.

    UAE state run news agency (WAM) reported that during the meeting ,
    they discussed ways to strengthen and promote trade and investment
    relations between the two countries and opening up export channels
    for the UAE produced commodities to markets neighboring Armenia such
    as Russia and Eastern Europe.

    Sheikha Lubna Al-Qasimi urged Armenian companies to benefit from
    the UAE's unique geographic location as a gateway between east and
    west, adding that it would provide Armenian food companies with an
    opportunity to reach many world markets. She also called on them
    to take advantage of the UAE's attractive and flexible investment
    legislations and high standards of living.

    For his part, the Armenian Minister Nalbadian affirmed his country's
    commitment to strengthening its economic, investment and trade
    relations with the UAE in light of its monumental development
    and growth of its economy. He pointed out to the growth of UAE's
    investments in Armenia, the latest of which was an Al-Futtaim Group's
    Carrefour chain of stores.

    Trade relations between the UAE and Armenia has been steadily improving
    for the past few years. According to WAM the UAE currently accounting
    for 97% of the total trade with Armenia. (QNA)
