Levon Aronyan - "the Man of the Year" for 2012

    13:10, 24 November, 2012

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 24, ARMENPRESS. "De Facto" socio-political magazine
awarded chess-player Levon Aronyan with the annual award "the Man of
the Year". As reports "Armenpress" at the ceremony of awarding held on
November 24 Levon Aronyan said that the prizes he has been awarded
with in the foreign countries are more connected with sports unlike
    those he receives in Armenia.

The International Grandmaster stated: "It's very pleasant and
important for me that the prize goes to a chess player. For the
representatives of our field it signifies that we are doing our job
properly and the people love chess. We must spare no effort so that
many chess players strive to show such results." He said that it's a
great honor for him to be declared "the Man of the Year".

Among other things Aronyan expressed his gratitude to his Mother Seda
Avagyan-Aronova for publishing the book about him. The presentation of
the aforementioned book was held on November 23.

In addition Aronyan said: "The book is really very interesting, as it
introduces the way mother can see the life of a sportsman. It's of a
certain importance for me, because I had already forgotten many
episodes, which have been introduced in the book. I am grateful to my
mother and all those people who supported the publication of this
    book."

In the end of November the leader of the Armenian National Chess Team,
thrice Olympic champion Levon Aronian will leave for London to
participate in London Chess Classic tournament.
