NUMBER OF WORKS BY KHACHATUR ABOVYAN HAS BEEN TRANSLATED INTO ENGLISH

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 8, ARMENPRESS. Two literature works - "Turkish girl"
and "Nakhashavigh" by Khachatur Abovyan have been translated into
English for the first time. As "Armenpress" reports this was announced
by director of Khachatur Abovyan's Memorial Museum Hovhannes Zatikyan
during his press conference. Khachatur Abovyan's works' translation
will be spread in Armenian schools and Armenian colonies of diaspora.
Presently '~RHazar Peshak'~R and '~RParap Vakhti Khaghalik" works by
Khachatur Abovyan are in a process of translation.
Zatikyan said, that Khachatur Abovyan's Memorial Museum published
those books in the expense of its own powers aiming to make this
Armenian genius more familiar for new generation.
As per the director of Khachatur Abovyan's Memorial Museum a new
publication regarding scientific circles studying Abovyan's literary
heritage, named '~RArmenian Question", was published one of these days.
According to Zatikyan, Abovyan's musical manuscripts in Gothic Germanic
language are notable and should be translated.
Khachatur Abovyan (born in October 15, in 1809 and missing since
April 2, 1848) is an outstanding writer and founder Eastern Armenian
'~Rashkharhabar'~R literature. In accordance with decision of National
Counsel of Commissars of Armenian SSR dated to April 25, 1938 Kh.
Abovyan's House in Kanaker was reconstructed and turned into memorial
museum.
