YEREVAN, IRAN'S SHIRAZ MAYORS DISCUSS COOPERATION ISSUES

Yerevan mayor Taron Margaryan met today with the mayor of Iranian town
of Shiraz Alireza Pakfetrat and members of the delegation that arrived
in Armenia within the framework of Erebuni-Yerevan 2794 celebrations,
Yerevan's municipality press service reported.
Rating high the current level of Armenian-Iranian relations,
Taron Margaryan particularly stressed the cooperation between
self-governmental bodies.
"Yerevan municipality is also cooperating with municipalities of
Tehran, Tabriz and Isfahan and I am convinced that the potential
of the development of cooperation has good perspective," Yerevan
mayor stressed.
Alireza Pakfetrat presented to Taron Margaryan the directions of
development of Shiraz and noted that Shiraz and Yerevan may expand
more the relations and implement joint programs in different spheres.
"Taking into consideration the similarities between Yerevan and Shiraz
with the number of population and geographical location, I think we
will cooperate in the administration area," Shiraz town mayor said,
inviting Taron Margaryan to Shiraz for reinforcing cooperation through
reciprocal visits as well.
Yerevan mayor has also offered to sign a cooperation memorandum that
will promote the further expansion of relations.
