A set of citizens of the town of Spitak expressed their concern
to www.aravot.am about the fact that they, living in shelters,
had landline phone numbers, whereas after getting apartments in the
framework of the reconstruction project of the disaster area, they
didn't have landline phone numbers.
During a conversation with us, they told that when they had moved to
the new Varpetats Neighborhood at the time, they had been informed that
they could retain the old numbers and the residents had paid monthly
fees for those phone numbers for two years, but the neighborhood was
not with provided landline phone service yet.
www.aravot.am has gotten clarifications from Anush Beghloyan, the
head of the public relations department of the ArmenTel company,
in this regard. She informed the citizens of
Spitak, "If the new apartments had been built in the same geological
area as the shelters, the same phone numbers of the citizens would
have been retained. But since the new apartments are built in a
different place, in that case the company is obliged to provide the
territory with landline phone service. The company provides a territory
with landline phone service based on the geological principle. And
according to the timetable, that geological area is not included in
the project yet."
A. Beghloyan asked citizens to apply to the company and put forward
concrete phone numbers, in order that they took respective steps and
gave necessary information.
