Armenia's National Security Council (NSC) Secretary Arthur
Baghdasaryan, who is in China on a working visit, met with Muratbek
Imanaliyev, the Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation
Organization (SCO), and they discussed Armenia's SCO observer
membership question.
Also, Baghdasaryan attended the SCO's and the Collective Security
Treaty Organization's (CSTO) joint conference, in which CSTO
Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha was on hand as well. Following
the conference, the NSC Secretary and the CSTO Secretary General held
a private talk and discussed the Armenia-CSTO cooperation in 2013.
Afterward, Arthur Baghdasaryan met with the Chinese Communist Party
Central Committee member Chen Fengxiang. They examined the strategic
cooperation between Armenia and China. Also, Chen Fengxiang was handed
an official invitation to Armenia.
The Armenian National Security Council Secretary's next meeting
was with Tsui Tszin, the head of China's Investment Agency. The
interlocutors explored the avenues for Chinese engagement and
investment in the projects that are of strategic importance for
Armenia.
