    Young astronomer's international school closes in Armenia's Byurakan

    The Fourth International Summer School for Young Astronomers hosted
    its closing ceremony in the town of Byurakan (Aragatsotn region) on
    Sarturday.

    According to a press release by the Armenian Astronomical Society, the
    event was held as part of the celebrations dedicated to the 1,400
    anniversary of the great Armenian mathematician, astronomer and
    philosopher, Anania Shirakatsi. In final days of the summer school.
    the young participants delivered their own reports, in addition to
    attending the lectures and practical trainings.

    The students and young astronomers introduced their theses and
    research activities. They were also given a chance to watch stars
    through small telescopes. On Friday, September 21, the school hosted
    its traditional dinner party. The closing ceremony saw the young
    scholars sum up the results of their activities and exchange opinions.
    They also watched a photo exhibition and were given certificates.
    Later in the day, the participants visited Yerevan. Highly impressed
    by their tour, they are leaving for their home countries later today
    or tomorrow.
