YEREVAN, MARCH 30, ARMENPRESS: 12th tour of World Championship
Candidates Tournament has been concluded. As reports Armenpress,
Carlsen-Ivanchuk game had an unexpected result: Ukrainian chess
player Vassily Ivanchuk scored the win over the leader of the
tournament table Magnus Carlsen. Next game lasted 7 hours and ended in
a draw; Teimour Radjabov and Alexander Grischuk shared the point.
After 12th tour Vladimir Kramnik leads the tournament table, being
followed by Magnus Carlsen (7,5 points) and Levon Aronian (6,5
points).
The Candidates Tournament is a chess tournament organized by the world
chess federation FIDE since 1950, as the final contest to determine
the challenger for the World Chess Championship. The winner of the
Candidates earns the right to a match for the World Championship
against the incumbent World Champion.
