82nd spot in Networked Readiness Index is shame for Armenia
April 13, 2013 | 15:39
YEREVAN.- Armenia has improved its position in the Networked Readiness
Index (NRI) 2013 reaching the 82nd spot out of 144 countries as
compared with last year's 96th place.
However, executive director of the Union of Information Technology
Enterprises Karen Vardanyan believes it is an awful result.
`Armenia has registered development dynamics, but the 82nd spot is a
shame,' he told reporters on Saturday.
The reason for low indicators is that government, businessmen and
common citizens are not using IT tools much which is explained by the
lack of competitive environment.
