About 70% of children will attend the Dilijan international
school in Armenia free of charge because it is a charity project,
Co-President of Sberbank SIB and project founder Ruben Vardanyan
told http://www.vedomosti.ru.
"My wife and I are implementing the Dilijan project, and 70% of the
children will attend the school free of charge. Their tuition fees
will be covered due to privately raised grant funds," Vardanyan said.
Multicultural education is an aspect of education, he added.
"We must save our children. I am trying to help Russia, Armenia and
the other ex-Soviet states to be competitive and internationally
attractive," Vardanyan said.
The Dilijan international school is the first elite boarding school
in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) to ensure harmonious
education for boys and girls aged 13 to 18.
The Dilijan international school is part of the urban and rural
regeneration project Mr Vardanyan and his wife are implementing
in Armenia.
About 600 children are expected to attend the school by 2020, with
about 200 of them to be Armenian citizens.
The Board of Trustees and an international team of experts from
Great Britain, France, Armenia, Russia and the USA are coordinating
the project.
Most of the teachers will be invited from European countries, with
classes to be conducted in English.
