CABINET SHOULD INVOLVE EXPERTS IN ECONOMIC POLICY DEVELOPMENT, ARMENIAN EXPERT SAYS
YEREVAN, April 22. /ARKA/. Armenia's government should cooperate with
experts in developing economic programs, irrespective of political
bias, head of "Alternative" research center, PhD in economy Tatul
Manaseryan said.
According to the expert, the government could extract lots of useful
information from alternative economic programs.
"Neoliberals, neosocialists and all other "ists"... We should use a
more pragmatic approach today. In evaluating a program, we should
assess whether its proposals are adequate under the existing
circumstances, whether they are realistic and sound minded",
Manaseryan said.
The expert expressed his satisfaction with the fact that the government
accepted a number of proposals made by "Alternative".
Manaseryan also stressed the necessity of staff changes in the
government.
Specialists having clear idea of their fields and able to develop
realistic programs should be involved in the cabinet, whereas officials
who are not able to write a simple composition about their sectors
but are keen on retaining posts should leave, according to the expert.
"The economic field cannot be a place to experiment anymore,"
Manaseryan said. -0-
