Today, the Armenian lobby marks the so called "Armenian genocide" in
Armenia and in some other countries. There is no doubt that also this
year, Armenia and the Armenian lobby will continue a serious
propaganda campaign in order to bringing the scale of the so-called
"tragedy" to the world's attention.
As a result of great efforts of the Armenian lobby, some countries
have called the 1915 events in Turkey a genocide. However, the main
goal of Armenia and the Armenian lobby is the recognition of the
events as a genocide by Turkey.
However, Armenia's goals are just a dream. On the other hand, most
countries see the so-called "genocide", which Armenia and the Armenian
lobby puts on the agenda annually, as a tool to improve ratings in
pre-election campaigns.
Another interesting fact is that Turkish officials have repeatedly
expressed their willingness to open the archives for the objective
study of the 1915 events, but Armenian officials have not responded to
this offer.
Recently, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc reiterated
Ankara's agreement to open all archives to investigate the 1915
events, however, the Armenian officials again did not respond to the
offer.
In addition, Turkish officials declared their willingness to establish
a historical commission with Armenia and other countries to
investigate these events.
Lack of an Armenian response to the offer gives grounds to say that
the "genocide" of 1915 is no more than a fictitious claim against
Turkey. If what Armenia claims happened, Armenia would at least accept
Turkey's offer.
However, when studying the 1915 events, on the contrary, the ethnic
cleansing of Muslims by Armenians in Turkey will come to light.
The reasons why Yerevan does not accept Ankara's offers does not end
there. One major reason is the failure of the Armenian government to
pursue an independent policy.
Undoubtedly, Armenian authorities in their policies towards Turkey
depend on the Armenian lobby, anti-Turkish policy and false "genocide"
claims that are made to preserve the Armenian lobby could keep its
position.
The opening of the archives may reduce the importance of the Armenian
lobby, which is feeding on unfounded "genocide" claims.
And it means a loss of serious financial support for Armenia, which is
in a state of economic crisis and has no significant economic
potential.
Armenia's attempts to present the 1915 events as genocide cannot be
called nothing less than a "genocide industry".
