YEREVAN. - During the final campaign week in the forthcoming Armenian
capital city Yerevan's Council election, opposition ARF Dashnaktsutyun
Party will call for unity among the other political forces.
ARF National Assembly Faction leader, ARF Supreme Body representative
Armen Rustamyan, who heads the party list for the Yerevan election,
stated the aforesaid during a talk with the voters on Sunday.
In his words, unlike the recent presidential vote, there will be
several times less number of polling stations during the Yerevan
Council election, and this will facilitate vote protection and election
fraud prevention.
"Four of the eight members of each election precinct commission will
not represent the ruling force. If they [that is, the non-governmental
forces] unite, no problem will arise in terms of oversight of the
electoral process," Rustamyan noted.
