YEREVAN, AUGUST 1, ARMENPRESS: Armenian boxing team gained the
first team position in the international traditional tournament
after famous Ukrainian boxerSeymon Trestin, which just finished in
Odessa. "Armenpress" was informed about this from coach of Armenian
team and at the same time participant of the tournament Garnik
Harutyunyan.
>From six Armenian participants four gained medals. 60 kg Karen
Tonakanyan and 91 kg Rafael Simonyan became champions. 69 kg Vahe
Abetyan gained silver and 56 kg Garnik Harutyunyan bronze medals.
160 boxers from Armenia, Ukraine, Russia, England, Ireland, Uzbekistan,
Kazakhstan, Canada, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan took part in
the tournament. Armenian boxers also received special prizes. Ukraine
was represented with four and Russia with two teams.
