INDIAN CULTURAL DAYS TO KICK OFF IN ARMENIA'S IJEVAN

YEREVAN. - The "Indo-Armenian Friendship" NGO is organizing "Indian
Cultural Days in Tavush Region," which is devoted to the 67th
anniversary of Indian Independence.
The event will be held from Friday to August 15 in Ijevan city.
The "Indian Cultural Days in Tavush Region" comprise these events:
1) "India through the Armenian Lens" - a group photo exhibition.
2) "Mystic Reflections of India" - an exhibition of paintings by
Armenian artists Vardan Avetyan and Vladimir Soghomonyan.
3) "Indian Movie Week" in Tavush Region.
The official opening will take place Friday at Vernatun Gallery
in Ijevan.
The "Indian Movie Week" will be held at the Cultural House of Ijevan.
Indian films of various genres will be screened with Russian
translation.
The objective of the event is to bring together those living in Tavush,
and who are interested in Indian-Armenian relations, to celebrate
this important day for Indians.
Indian Ambassador Suresh Babu, Governor Armen Ghularyan of Tavush
Region, and Mayor Vardan Ghalumyan of Ijevan will be the guests of
honor of the official opening.
The program is supported by the Embassy of India in Armenia,
Municipality of Ijevan, and Ijevan Wine-Brandy Factory.
