AVERAGE ANNUAL TUITION FEE IN ARMENIAN UNIVERSITIES IS OVER $852, HSBC GROUP RESEARCH SHOWS
YEREVAN, August 14. / ARKA /. The average annual tuition fees in
Armenian universities is $852, while the annual living expenses of
an international student in Armenia amount to $3,400, according to
an HSBC Group "Studying Abroad Research."
According to the study, conducted in Armenia and 13 other countries,
the most expensive country for foreign students is Australia, where
the average annual tuition fee is $25,375, while living costs amount
to $13,140. Thus, the combined average annual cost of studying and
living in Australia is $38.516.
The United States is the world's second most expensive country for
international students, according to the research HSBC Group. The
combined average annual cost of university fees and living expenses
in the U.S. is over US$35,000. The USA is followed by the UK, where
the combined cost is $30,025.
They are followed by UAE ($27,375), Canada ($ 26.011), Singapore ($
24.248), Hong Kong ($22.443), Japan ($ 19,164), Russia ($ 9, 441),
China ($ 8,766), Taiwan ($ 8,257), Spain ($ 7,006).
The cheapest country for international students is Germany, where
the annual tuition fee is $635. , and the combined average annual
cost of university fees and living expenses make $ 6,285.
"Education planning is a predictable process, as the need for education
is clearly demarcated in accordance with age. The combined annual costs
vary depending on the country chosen for getting higher education,"
HSBC Bank Armenia press officer Mariam Adamyan said today.
According to her, while planning education abroad one should take into
account not only the tuition fees and the cost of living, but also the
fluctuation in exchange rates, inflation, as well as travel expenses
for traveling home for holidays. Today, the number of international
students in the world is 4.5 million.
The HSBC Group's research was compiled from data in 13 countries around
the world. Fees represent the average tuition cost for international
students based on the top 10 largest institutions in each relevant
country.
According to the Armenian Ministry of Education, there are now 500
foreign students in Armenia, 400 of them are foreign citizens of
Armenian origin. Armenia currently has 16 state-owned and 35 private
universities, as well as several universities set up with foreign
countries - the Russian-Armenian (Slavic) University, the American
University of Armenia and the French University in Armenia.
