Larisa Alaverdyan: Armenian-Russian relations depend on Turkey-
Azerbaijan tandem

The current actions of Turkey and Azerbaijan suggest that
Armenian-Russian relations already depend on their tandem, the former
Human Rights Defender of Armenia, former MP Larisa Alaverdyan told
journalists on Saturday.
"But if their actions run counter of Russia's interests, the Kremlin
will make it known to them. For the time being President Putin's visit
to Baku was the best gift he could make to his Azeri counterpart Ilham
Aliyev before the forthcoming presidential election in Azerbaijan,"
Alaverdyan said.
She regrets that Armenia continues being passive in this process. "We
must become an active part of the world community," Alaverdyan said.
She believes that Nagorno-Karabakh is becoming an increasingly
important factor in the South Caucasus due to its growing army and
economy.
