ARMENIAN AUTHORITIES PREPARE CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS - NEWSPAPER

YEREVAN. - Rumor has it that the Armenian authorities decided to
hold a referendum on Constitutional amendments next year, 168 Zham
newspaper writes.
"The new Constitution stipulates replacement of semi-presidential
system with a parliamentary one. Prime Minister will have de facto
power. Under this scenario, President Serzh Sargsyan will abandon his
post in 2017 to head the proportional list of the Republican Party
of Armenia during the next parliamentary elections and will take the
post of a prime minister.
According to the same sources, it has been decided that President
of Constitutional Court Gagik Harutyunyan will head the committee on
constitutional amendments. Most likely the committee will be set up
this December," the newspaper writes.
