PanARMENIAN.Net - Monuments to famous duduk playersJivan Gasparyan,
Levon Madoyan and Vache Hovsepyan will be unveiled in Yerevan in
October.
As duduk master Jivan Gasparyan told a news conference in Yerevan,
`the monuments must be erected to the living. People must be
appreciated in their lifetime.'
As the master said, on finding out a monument will be erected in his
honor he requested that the monuments to unfairly forgotten duduk
players Levon Madoyan and Vache Hovsepyan be unveiled as well.
As the master noted, as a man of art, he tries to stay away from
politics. `Still, I never did and never will perform Turkish music,'
he said.
Gasparyan said he's still planning to open a charity duduk school for
talented children in Yerevan, but is trying to find funds to fulfill
the project. Earlier, the master voiced intention to teach at the
school.
On November 18, Gasparyan who'll become 85 on October 12, will host a
jubilee concert in Moscow's Kremlin Palace.
