VILLAGERS SHOULD BE SUPPORTED: NATIONAL ASSEMBLY PRESIDENT

YEREVAN, AUGUST 30, ARMENPRESS: The President of the National
Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan visited the
Armavir Marz on August 30, accompanied by the Governor of the Armavir
Marz Ashot Ghahramanyan and met with the heads of the hail-affected
communities and the population of Armavir. As reported by Armenpress,
Hovik Abrahamyan emphasized that the hail-affected population of the
Armavir Marz has been supported on the level of the President of the
Republic of Armenia, emphasizing that the support process should be
continuous and the villagers should be always assisted.
According to the President of the National Assembly of the Republic
of Armenia, on September parliamentary hearings will be held.
"The discussions aim at clarifying if there have been any deficiencies
in the process or not. And if yes, corresponding actions should be
made to correct them", - said Hovik Abrahamyan.
The Governor of the Armavir Marz Ashot Ghahramanyan informed that
today the villagers will be distributed with the money collected with
the initiative of Aleksan Petrosyan.
On August 15 the term for the money collection by the foundation for
assistance to the hail-affected villagers was over. During the months
of the activities of the charity foundation 240,539,700 drams have
been collected. This was reported to Armenpress by the initiator of
the foundation, the deputy of the Republican Party of Armenia Aleksan
Petrosyan. According to him, currently the scheme of distributing the
money to the villagers is being discussed. "We decided to establish
commissions in the villages affected by the hail, which will coordinate
the money distribution process", - said Aleksan Petrosyan, adding that
the money distribution will be carried out during the forthcoming days.
A foundation was established to provide assistance to the villagers
affected by the hail fell on May 12 in the Armavir Marz. The biggest
transfer of which was made by the President of the Republic of Armenia
Serzh Sargsyan - 80 million drams. Donations have been made by the
Armenia's Police and the Yerevan Cognac Factory - 20 million drams
each, the State Revenue Committee - 20 million and 100,000 drams,
the National Assembly of Armenia - 6 million drams, the Central
Bank - 10 million drams. The collected money will be directed to the
hail-affected population of the Armavir Marz.
