PanARMENIAN.Net - In early January, the first generating unit of
the Bushehr nuclear power plant on the Iranian coast of the Persian
Gulf started feeding electricity into the national grid. It is now
operating at full capacity, The Voice of Russia said.
The announcement came from Iran's nuclear energy agency.
The first contractor on the Bushehr project was Germany's Siemens.
After four years, however, it pulled out in connection with the events
that followed Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution.
In 1995, Russian contractors took over the construction work on the
Bushehr project.
