Presidential candidate, ex-foreign minister of Nagorno Karabakh Arman
Melikyan stated at the meeting with reporters today that the coming
presidential elections will not be like previous ones. He said he
personally will do everything for legal elections.
The presidential candidate confessed that the nominated possible
candidates against the authorities - Raffi Hovhannisian, Hrant
Bagratyan, Paruyr Hayrikyan are from 'second echelon parties.' "But
this people in reality do not have any chances to be elected in
conditions of authorities' games," he said.
Arman Melikyan presented the strategy they have developed, saying it
is a real scenario of victory.
"First of all we are not going to prove anything to the authorities -
our issue is to ensure legal elections," he said, adding they will
decide over it immediately after the start of the election campaign.
In front of the reporters, the presidential candidate signed a letter
addressed to the Central Electoral Commission chairman where he asks
Tigran Mukuchyan to assist them.
"I demand publication of the information of those who have left
Armenia, those who have received Armenia's citizenship and how many
of them refused. It is the first step toward it," he said.
According to him, not the public should demand proves of conduction
of legal elections but the authorities must demonstrate that they
follow the law, otherwise the authorities' rating will go down.
The presidential candidate also said that he is going to have proxies
from Rule of Law and Republican Party of Armenia.
Arman Melikyan is also inviting extra parliamentary forces to
cooperate.
Asked how he managed to pay the 8 million drams election pledge
Arman Melikyan said, he does not have such sum but has supporters
and associates who helped him in the issue.
"Besides election pledge we do not have other money and are going to
build our campaign in accordance with it. We are going to implement
our strategy in big settlements as in rural areas the authorities
have bigger chances to threaten the people," he explained.
