MONITORING GROUP OF CIS INTERPARLIAMENTARY ASSEMBLY TO OBSERVE PRE-ELECTION CAMPAIGN

YEREVAN, JANUARY 18, ARMENPRESS: Group of international observers of
Interparliamentary Assembly of Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS)
will monitor pre-election campaign in Yerevan. Armenpress reports, on
the invitation of National Assembly of Armenia, International observers
of the CIS Interparliamentary Group Association, Chairman of Moldovan
Parliamentary Committee on national security, public order and defence
issues, Observation Group Coordinator Alexander Stoyanoglo led by Head
of Secretariat of CIS Interparliamentary Assembly Council, Secretary
General Aleksey Sergeev will arrive in Yerevan and other regions of
Armenia in frames of long-term observation mission of presidential
elections in order to get acquainted with pre-election campaign.
Meetings with National Assembly of Armenia, leadership of Central
Electoral Commission, campaign headquarters of presidential candidates,
representatives of Prosecutor's Office, the Constitutional Court are
scheduled in frames of the visit.
Candidates for the post of the president of the Republic of Armenia
during presidential electiosn being held on February 18, 2013 are:
President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, former Prime Minister Hrant
Bagratyan, leader of Heritage party Raffi Hovhannisian, leader of
Self-Determination Union Paruyr Hayrikyan, leader of National Accord
party Aram Harutyunyan, former Foreign Minister of Nagorno-Karabakh
Republic Arman Melikyan, political expert Andrias Ghukasyan, historian
Vartan Sedrakyan.
Online voting will launch on February 9 at 8:00 AM Yerevan time and
will be concluded at 8:00 PM, February 13.
Elections will launch at 8:00 AM on February 18 and last till 8:00 PM.
Results will be concluded on February 25, 2013.
