ARMENIAN DIASPORA REACTS TO PRESIDENTIAL HOPEFUL'S HUNGER STRIKE

YEREVAN. - Armenian presidential candidate Andreas Ghukasyan
will continue his hunger strike until election day on February 18,
Ghukasyan's campaign headquarters coordinator Armen Grigoryan informed
during a press conference on Friday.
According to him, if Ghukasyan's demands are not met until then,
he will develop new methods of efforts following February 18. He is
in normal health condition at present.
In response to the query as to whether Ghukasyan's hunger strike is
a unique PR campaign, Grigoryan noted: "This is not true. The factor
of one man should not be ruled out. The history of mankind shows what
one man is capable of."
As for public reaction to Ghukasyan's protest, Grigoryan informed
that the response is more active than expected.
"Not only have the residents of the regions [of Armenia] but, also,
Diaspora Armenians responded pledging to pay for [Andreas] Ghukasyan's
paid [broadcast] airtime, if necessary, Armen Grigoryan stated.
