Fri, 01/25/2013 - 15:58
The Investigative Department of the RA National Security Service did
not declare about the end of the investigation concerning the money
laundering. Today Tigran Atanesyan, the attorney of the accused in
the case, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, the member of the
National Assembly Vardan Oskanyan said.
It should be noted that on October 2, 2012 the National Assembly
satisfied the motion of the RA General Prosecutor's Office and
partially deprived Vardan Oskanyan of parliamentary immunity allowing
initiating a prosecution and investigation.
On October 8 V. Oskanyan was charged with Article 179 Section 3
Clause 1 and Article 190 Section 3 Clause1 of RA Criminal Code-
squandering or embezzlement of somebody's property entrusted to the
person in particularly large amount and legitimizing (legalizing)
of illegally obtained income. Oskanyan using their procedural rights
refused to give testimony.
The preliminary investigation of this case is in process and it is
too early to say when the case will be sent to court.
