YEREVAN. - Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan's visit to France became
an important milestone for the strengthening of Armenian-French
friendly ties in 2012, the Armenian MFA 2012 Report states.
Sargsyan paid an official visit to Franca and a trip to Belgium in
the year past.
Armenia's National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan was in the
Czech Republic on an official visit. In addition, the parliamentary
delegations paid mutual visits.
Premier Tigran Sargsyan paid working visits to Belgium and Germany.
Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian visited several European countries.
In their turn, leaders and senior officials from a number of European
countries and organizations paid visits to Armenia.
Within the framework of international conferences and other
multilateral forums, FM Nalbandian met with his colleagues from
several countries of Europe.
Political consultations were held between the MFAs of Armenia and
numerous European states.
Lithuanian Minister of National Defense, Rasa Juknevičienė, and
Italian defense minister, Admiral Giampaolo di Paola, visited Armenia's
capital city Yerevan in July and in October respectively.
Also, Yerevan hosted sessions of the Armenian-Cypriot Intergovernmental
Commission and the Armenian-German Intergovernmental Commission.
The Czech Republic opened its diplomatic representation in Armenia.
