Armenia partook in conference of European Astronomical Society in Switzerland

YEREVAN, JANUARY 26, ARMENPRESS. Armenia has participated in the
conference of the European Astronomical Society, which was held in
Switzerland. The Armenian Astronomical Society informed "Armenpress"
that the conference of the European Astronomical Society (EAS) took
place in Switzerland. The EAS leaders, heads of astronomical societies
of European countries and representatives of other European scientific
organizations attended the c conference. Such conferences were held
also in 2008 in Holland and in 2012 in Switzerland. The goal of this
meeting was to sum up the results of the last year, discuss future
plans, continue active cooperation with national organizations, as
well as to reinforce the leading role of the European astronomy.
The co-founder of Armenian Astronomical Society Areg Mirakyan took
part in the conference and delivered a report. His report was devoted
to the activities of the Armenian Astronomical Society during 2012 and
to the possible ways of cooperation between the EAS and Armenian
Astronomical Society.
Heads of astronomical societies from Austria, Spain, Italy, Greece,
Great Britain, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Portugal, Russia,
Serbia, Ukraine, and France delivered reports on the current state of
astronomy in different countries.
