ARMENIAN PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE CALLS FOR BOYCOTT OF PARLIAMENT

Aram Arutyunyan, leader of the National Consent Party and candidate
for president, has called for a boycott of the upcoming session of
parliament and its shutdown for three months to form a new one.
Arutyunyan confirmed his quitting the presidential campaign on
February 8. He believes that President Serzh Sargsyan would makes
certain steps if he gets abandoned.
Armenia will have presidential polls at 8 am - 8 pm on February 18.
The president serves for 5 years.
8 candidates are running for president: President Serzh Sargsyan,
former PM and leader of the Freedom Party Grant Bagratyan, former
Foreign Minister and leader of the Heritage Party Raffi Ovannisyan,
leader of theNational Self-Identification Union Paruyr Ayrikyan,
former Foreign Minister of Nagorno-Karabakh Arman Melikyan, a
political analyst of Radio Hay Andreas Gukasyan, a researcher of
epos VardanSedrakyan and leader of the National Consent Party Aram
Arutyunyan.
