Apricots exported from Armenia to Zimbabwe

YEREVAN, JULY 13, ARMENPRESS: 18,200 tons of apricots have been
exported from the Republic of Armenia, 40 kilograms of which was
exported to Zimbabwe for the first time. This was stated by the Deputy
Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia Robert Makaryan at
the meeting with the journalists. The main countries, to where the
Armenian apricot is exported, are the Russian Federation with 26,800
tons, Georgia with 3,800 tons, as well as the Netherlands and Belarus
with lesser amounts.
In 2013 18,200 tons of apricots have been exported from the Republic
of Armenia and 10,600 tons of fruits were stored inside the country,
10,108 tons of which are apricots.
The Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia Robert
Makaryan noted that the storage and export works continue. Speaking
about the prices of the stored and exported apricots, Robert Makaryan
stated that the low quality segment is stored by 40-50 AMD. The
average price for the exported apricots is 200-250 AMD, depending on
the quality. The highest price is 600-700 AMD. `15 Armenian companies
store the apricots, 6 of which are large organizations', - said the
Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia Robert
Makaryan.
