YEREVAN, JULY 16, ARMENPRESS: Armenians of Aleppo continue to organize
their lives in difficult war conditions. "Armenpress" was informed
from employee of "Gandzasar" newspaper of Aleppo Zarmik Poghikyan that
the blockade of the city goes on though due to efforts of governor on
July 16 supply of some vegetables to markets is noticeable but they
are sold in much more expensive prices. "The supply of electricity
and water has been improvedcompared with previous days. Dozens of
car with fuel entered the city," he said.
In his words Aleppo Armenians do their best to organize their lives.
In that great contribution has Syrian pan-national regional department
which organized for Armenian children, young people event called
"Life goes on". The organizers have decided to organize such event
on coming Sunday. "These are Aleppo Armenians which lives also with
Armenian culture," mentioned Poghikyan.
Emergency and recovery body of Syrian Armenians continues supplying
help to families in need. "Today it distributed help to Armenian
families in Aleppo. It is the necessary food storage for 1.5-2 months
which is provided to 3500 Armenian families," informed Poghikyan. He
assured that the body visits sick people and pays a part of hospital
costs. It cooperates with Syrian "Red Crescent" international
organization and with the help of it also helps Arab people of Syria.
In the beginning of July because of Aleppo blockade its population
faced the danger of starving. It was informed that the markets are
empty, most part of shops are closed. There is a shortage of fuel,
medicines and other essential materials. Electricity and water supply
is often suspended and the armed clashes in the city are creating
danger for the lives of peaceful population.
