NAT TONAL SECURITY SERVICE DISMISSES REPORTS ON SENDING TEAM TO CYPRUS TO INVESTIGATE OFFSHORE SCANDAL

YEREVAN. - Armenian National Security Service (NSS) has dismissed
reports saying a group was sent to Cyprus to investigate the details of
"an offshore scandal" involving Armenian PM.
"The reports are untrue," spokesperson for NSS Artsvin Baghramyan
told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Earlier the Zhoghovurd daily reported that NSS has sent a special
team to Cyprus to research the details of the offshore scandal of PM
Tigran Sargsyan and gather information on his property in Cyprus.
As informed earlier, Hetq.am News Agency had written that PM Tigran
Sargsyan, Archbishop Navasard Kjoyan-the Vicar General of the Araratian
Pontifical Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church-, and "jeweler"
Ashot Sukiasyan are shareholders in an offshore company called Wlispera
Holdings Limited, which is registered in Cyprus.
Sargsyan and Kjoyan, however, have denied their involvement in such
company.
